Doing a simple Reverse Image Search, we spotted a news report published by The News Minute on January 12, 2023, with a headline: “Stones pelted at Vande Bharat train in Vizag days before the inauguration.”
A video, tweeted by ANI dated January 11, 2023, carries similar visuals with the text: “Andhra Pradesh | Stones pelted on Vande Bharat train in Visakhapatnam which will be flagged off by PM Modi on Jan 19. The incident occurred during maintenance. The glass pane of a coach of Vande Bharat Express was damaged near Kancharapalem, Visakhapatnam. Further probe underway: DRM.”

Reporting the recent incident of stone pelting in Malappuram, Kerala, Manorama News stated that “Stone pelting on Vande Bharat train near Tirunavaya, Malappuram, during the journey. A passenger who saw a crack in the glass of the train brought it to the attention of the loco pilot. The police and RPF have started an investigation into the incident.” But the image used here is different from the viral image.
Thus, it is clear that the viral image showing an attack on Vande Bharat Express is NOT from Kerala, but Andhra Pradesh.
