FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the video in question, and found it to be doctored.

On observing the video, our team noticed the watermark of ‘Variety’. Upon scanning through the social media handles of ‘Variety’, we found the original video on their official YouTube channel, dated February 5, 2024 (IST). The video was from Red Carpet of the Grammy Awards 2024, which was held on February 4, 2024.

While the video on Variety’s YouTube channel was vertical, on closely observing the audio of both videos, it can be asserted that both videos are identical. However, in the original video, the Grammy award-winning pop star is NOT seen with any banner.

Digging further, we also found the full video of Taylor Swift’s Red Carpet entry from a different angle on the official YouTube channel of the Grammys, where too, throughout the video, Swift can be seen without any banner.

It is to be noted that while video in question shows bare hands of Swift holding the banner, in reality, she was wearing black gloves throughout.

Hence, it can be concluded that the video in question is morphed by video-editing software.
