FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral claim and found it to be completely false.

Our team analysed the suspicious URLs shared in the message —

The website mimics official platforms, displaying logos of the BJP, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, and images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appear legitimate. However, this is a classic example of phishing designed to lure unsuspecting users.

A review of official websites and verified social media handles of the Government of India, the BJP, the Ministry of Finance, and Mudra Yojana confirms that no such cash giveaway or scheme has been announced.

This is not the first time such scams have surfaced. NewsMobile has previously debunked similar hoaxes falsely attributing giveaways to trusted brands like Amazon, Flipkart, TATA Group and Hermès. These fraudulent campaigns often use clickbait visuals and fake endorsements to trick users into clicking malicious links, potentially compromising personal data or bank details.

So, the viral message claiming the government is offering ₹699–₹5,000 is FAKE. Do not click on such suspicious links. They are part of a phishing scam aimed at stealing your data.
