Many social media users are sharing a screenshot of a tweet purportedly done by the news agency, ANI. The tweet claims that Supreme Court has banned Saraswati Puja in schools and also removed Sanskrit, Mahabharata and Ramayana from the course curriculum.
The tweet reads, “BREAKING: SC bans Saraswati Pooja, removes Sanskrit ramayan and Mahabharata from current curriculum. “not to bring any religion into school”remarks the CJI.”

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.
On closely observing the viral post, we found that the post was done by a Twitter handle, @___VintageSoul. The official Twitter handle of ANI is @ANI.
On visiting the Twitter handle @___VintageSoul, we found that the Twitter handle has changed its name to Friendlass and has also changed the profile photo. However, the Tweet was still present on the Timeline. We also compared the screenshot of the viral Tweet with the one which was done by @___VintageSoul, and found both showed the same time at which the Tweet was done, i.e; 12 February 2022 at 4:39 PM.
On scrolling down the Twitter handle of @___VintageSoul, we found that it has reshared the screenshot of its previous Tweet with the caption, “guess how many sanghis committed sati at the idea of secularism?”
We also scrolled through the Twitter handle of ANI and found no such post was done from it.
We also found no media reports that say that Supreme Court has banned performing Saraswati Puja in schools.
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral post claiming that Supreme Court has banned performing Saraswati Puja in schools is fake and was done from a parody account of ANI.
