Following the landslide in Wayanad, an image is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that the relief work is being done by the RSS activists.
The post has been shared with a caption: “Rss helping wayanad people and working day and night also collecting food and distributes to needed ones.”

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be fabricated.
The NM team could identify the image as Nikhila Vimal, who is a Malayalam actor. With a keyword search, we found multiple reports stating that she joined the relief efforts by the Democratic Youth Federation of India’s Youth Brigade for victims of flood-ravaged Wayanad.
The Times of India has also shared the same report, dated July 31, 2024. According to the report, Nikhila joined volunteers at the collection centre at Taliparamba taluk, Kannur.
On searching further, we found the video of Nikhila on the official Instagram page of DYIF Kerala.
