FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.
Conducting a Google Lens search, it is revealed that the viral image is a composite of two separate photos. The original photograph of Babasaheb Ambedkar includes his wife, Dr. Savita Ambedkar, a Sudama servant, and their pet dog. Mahatma Gandhi was absent in this original image, indicating that the viral image had been digitally manipulated.
Further analysis of the image of Gandhi led to the discovery of the original photograph, taken during the 1930 Dandi March. In this image, Gandhi is seen picking up salt, not interacting with Ambedkar.
This edited image has been circulating on social media since 2014. The exact date of its alteration remains unknown.
Thus, it is confirmed that the image claiming to show Mahatma Gandhi touching the feet of Babasaheb Ambedkar is digitally manipulated.
