Multiple images showing a massive gathering of people at a pro-Palestine rally are widely circulating on social media. Many users claim that the visuals are from a protest held in Kolkata, India.
A Facebook user posted the images with a caption: Thousands have rallied in Sohrawardi Park, Kolkata, India, in solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.

NewsMobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be false.
Putting the pictures through Reverse Image Search, the NM team found the original images posted on Facebook, dated April 12, 2025. As per the post, the visuals show a large pro-Palestine gathering at Suhrawardy Park in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Searching further with relevant keywords, NewsMobile identified a video report of a pro-Palestinian rally that took place at Suhrawardy Park in the Dhaka University area. According to the report, approximately 100,000 people gathered in Dhaka to protest Israel’s actions in Gaza.
Thus, we can conclusively say that the images claiming to show a pro-Palestine protest in Kolkata, India, is false.
