Who doesn’t know Dolly Chaiwala! He (real name: Sunil Patil) is a 26-year-old tea seller from Nagpur, Maharashtra, who became an Internet sensation for his flamboyant tea-making style and charismatic personality.
It came as no surprise to many when posters widely circulating on social media announced that Dolly Chaiwala had been appointed as the Tata Starbucks (a multinational chain of coffeehouses) brand ambassador.
A Facebook post shared by the Shushant Army reads: Dolly Chaiwala becomes the brand ambassador of Starbucks India.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral news and found it to be false.
A quick Google search provided the NewsMobile team with no authentic report of any such marketing deal coming through. At the time of fact-checking this news, Tata, the company that brought Starbucks to India, never responded to the collaboration.
But on June 16, Tata Starbucks debunked the viral rumours claiming that Dolly Chaiwala, a well-known tea vendor and Internet sensation, was named its brand ambassador. The coffee chain issued a statement clarifying that no such appointment had been made and the claims are entirely false.
“We have noted recent social media posts suggesting that Tata Starbucks has appointed an official brand ambassador. We want to clarify that Tata Starbucks does not have any official brand ambassadors in India. Specifically, we have not entered into any collaboration with Dolly Chaiwala,” the company said.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral X remarks about the Tata Starbucks brand deals or exaggerated earnings are just a hoax.
