FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the claim and found it to be misleading and part of a phishing scam.

On clicking the link shared with the post, it redirected users to a suspicious domain — cryptobatter.com — which has no association with Jio, Airtel, or any government body. The use of an unofficial URL itself is a clear red flag.

A Google search yielded no credible news reports or official announcements supporting the claim. We also checked the verified websites and social media handles of the telecom operators and the Government of India — no such free recharge scheme exists.

Neither the government nor telecom operators are offering a three-month free recharge. The viral message is a classic phishing attempt aimed at luring users to fake websites and stealing personal information.

In conclusion, the claim that Jio and Airtel are offering 3 months of free recharge is false. Users are advised not to click on suspicious links or share personal details on such websites.
