FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be misleading.
On doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same image was uploaded by a Twitter user on March 27, 2020, with the caption that reads, ‘Dekhiye Modiji’.
We found that the same image was also uploaded by another Twitter user on March 28, 2020. The text can be translated in English to: “If this is the situation of Indian police then people will due to police brutality first than due to COVID-19.”
PIB Fact check also tweeted to refute the viral content. The tweet read, “A contextually misleading image is being circulated on social media. #PIBFactCheck This image is old and was found to be viral with fake claims on numerous occasions. Kindly refrain from sharing such misleading images.”
