A video clip of a news bulletin is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that a lockdown will be imposed in Uttar Pradesh from March 4, 2025. The footage features a news anchor reporting about lockdown restrictions, fuelling speculation about a fresh lockdown in the state.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral claim, and found it to be Misleading.
A Google keyword search yielded no credible reports or official announcements about any upcoming lockdown in Uttar Pradesh. If such a major decision had been made, it would have been widely covered by mainstream news media.
To dig deeper, NewsMobile conducted a Reverse Image Search of the viral video keyframes, and found an extended version of the clip, uploaded on Republic Bharat’s official YouTube channel, dated April 17, 2021.
The report in question was about a weekend lockdown in Uttar Pradesh during the Covid-19 pandemic, not any upcoming restriction. More such reports from the time can be seen here, here and here.
Thus, we can conclusively say that the 2021 Covid-19 lockdown clip has now resurfaced on social media with false narratives.
