As India struggles hard to come to terms with the continuing spike in COVID-19 cases, many individuals and organisations are coming together to open makeshift medical facilities and isolation centres for patients.
Recently, a few pictures started making rounds claiming a similar facility has been started in the Jamat-e-Islami Hind (Jamat-e-Islami) mosque located in the Abul Fazl Enclave area of Delhi.
“दिल्ली: मस्जिद अशाअत ए इस्लाम, जमाअत ए इस्लामी हिन्द,अबुल फ़ज़्ल एन्क्लेव, शाहीन बाग़,जामिया नगर, कोविड मरीज़ों के लिए अज़ीम ख़िदमत!!!” the post read.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be misleading.
We ran the picture through Reverse Image Search and found a tweet from April 2020 featuring the same image. As per the tweet, the picture was taken in a mosque in Azam Campus, Pune, where 80 people could be quarantined.
Similar pictures of the isolation ward at the mosque were shared by ANI in April 2020.
Newswire ANI tweeted the pictures with the caption: Maharashtra: Mosque located inside Azam Campus educational institute in Pune has been turned into a quarantine facility for persons likely infected with COVID19. PA Inamdar, Chairman, Maharashtra Cosmopolitan & Education Society says, “It’s our duty to help the nation at this time”.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, 9,000 square feet hall on the first floor of the mosque with a capacity for 80 beds was been turned into a quarantine centre.
More media report on the same can be seen here, here and here.
Moreover, we also looked for recent media reports to support the viral claim but none of the reports suggested that any COVID-19 facility has been set up at Jamat-e-Islami Hind (Jamat-e-Islami) mosque located in Abul Fazl Enclave area of Delhi.
However, we did find a report published on April 27, 2021, stating that committee members and imams of mosques in Jamia Nagar are looking at starting isolation facilities for COVID-19 positive individuals in the neighbourhood.
Hence, from the above fact check, it is clear that an old picture from Pune is being passed off as that of a recent isolation facility set up in Delhi.
