As political tensions rise ahead of the Bihar assembly elections scheduled for October–November, a video showing a large crowd of women grabbing saris from a shop is doing the rounds on social media. Many users claim that members of the BJP Mahila Morcha looted a saree shop in Muzaffarpur during the NDA’s bandh, which was called after a man in Darbhanga was arrested for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Congress-led voter rights rally.
The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: कल के बिहार बंद के दौरान भाजपा महिला मोर्चा की नेताओं ने “मैं भी मां हूं” का नारा लगाते हुए मुजफ्फरपुर में साड़ी की दुकान लूट ली (English version: During yesterday’s Bihar bandh, BJP Mahila Morcha leaders looted a saree shop in Muzaffarpur, raising slogans “Main bhi maa hoon (I am also a mother)”)

Running the video keyframes through Google Lens, NewsMobile traced it back to an Instagram post by an account — Agarwal’s Sarees, shared on August 20, 2025, with a caption: “Big Sale 2025 ka 60th day”.

On checking the account further, we discovered that Agarwal Sarees is a shop located in the Hathipol Market of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The store’s social media page contains several similar videos from the same promotional event, all showing heavy crowds during the sale.

The shop’s location in Hathipol Market was also confirmed through Google Maps.
Thus, it is clear that the viral video of women rushing to grab sarees is from a promotional sale in Udaipur, not Bihar.
