The French Interior Ministry reported a significant decrease in overnight violence in various cities across the country, just one week after riots broke out following the police shooting of a teenager during a traffic stop. According to the ministry, 72 individuals were arrested nationwide, with 24 arrests in and around Paris.
Amid the ongoing France protests, a video of a parking lot with dozens of vehicles engulfed in flames is widely shared on social media, claiming that it shows the unrest in France.
The video is shared with a caption: “Car parking area in Marseille, France”.
Several people have also shared a screenshot of the video with the text, “FRANCE RIOTS JULY 2, 2023, UPDATE – Marseille: Rioters set fire to a parking lot filled with brand new vehicles.”
