Here’s the link to the above post

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be MISLEADING.

Using the InVid Tool, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a Reverse Image Search. This search directed us to a YouTube uploaded on February 20, 2014, that carried similar visuals.

The video description can be translated in English to, “The most massive action is continuously taking place in Kyiv. During this time, several attempts were made to disperse the protesters on Independence Square by force, using fighters from the Berkut special forces and the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, criminal cases were initiated against activists, protests were tried to be silenced by court decisions, information attacks and provocations involving criminal elements.”

Searching further, we found the same viral video uploaded on a YouTube channel on February 24, 2014. The video is in the Russian language that can be translated in English to, “Maidan residents throw Molotov cocktails at armoured personnel carriers!”

Doing a keyword search, we found images of the same incident uploaded on Getty Images in 2014, with the caption, “Ukrainian anti-government protesters throw Molotov cocktails during clashes with riot police in central Kyiv early on January 25, 2014. Protesters and Ukrainian police were locked in a tense standoff in Kyiv after a night of sporadic clashes that erupted despite a truce and offer of concessions by President Viktor Yanukovych.”

More similar images from the 2014 protests can be seen here and here

Thus, it is evident from the above information that an old video is being falsely linked to the Ukraine-Russia conflict claiming that Ukrainian citizens are destroying Russian tanks with Molotov cocktails.
