A video of some men wearing skull caps and stopping an army convoy while shouting slogans is doing the rounds on Internet, claiming that the clip is from West Bengal, India.
The video is shared with a caption: बंगाल में लश्कर के घायल जवान को ले जाते समय मुसलमानों ने घेर कर गाड़ियाँ रोक लीं, तादाद बढ़ने पर लश्कर का ये हाल है भाई किस सपने में हो तुम? (English translation: In Bengal, while taking the injured soldier, Muslims surrounded and stopped the vehicles. This is the condition of Lashkar after the increase in their number, brothers, what a dream world are you in?)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, and found it to be false.
On examining the picture closely, we found that the number plate of the vehicle was in Bangla and it was not an Indian vehicle number plate.
Also, the insignia on the uniform of the army personnel indicates that they are from Bangladesh Army. And the Bangladesh army officers’ uniform matches with the viral video.
We found the longer version of the video uploaded on Facebook live, dated on March 28, 2021, with a caption: “হাটহাজারী সড়কে সেনাবাহিনী” (Army on Hathazari Road).
We noticed a banner in the video that reads: ‘Al Hera Tahfizul Quran Islamic Academy’ in Bangla. As per the Academy’s Facebook page, it is located at Rangamati Road in Isapur, Fayzia Bazar in Chittagong’s Hathazari.
We looked up the street view of Isapur Fayzia Bazar on Google Maps and found a building similar to the one in the viral video.
On comparing both pictures, it becomes clear that the incident of hooliganism took place near Isapur Fayzia Bazar.
Hence, it is clear that the video was from Bangladesh, NOT West Bengal.
