FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral claim and found it to be Misleading.
Conducting a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a news report in Gujarati Jagran on January 06, 2025.
As per the report, the video is linked to an incident in Thoriyali village in Vinchia, Rajkot district, Gujarat. A man who had filed a complaint about land grabbing was murdered, and the police registered a case against seven people. Six of the accused were arrested. When police brought them to the station, a large crowd gathered, demanding a public parade of the accused through Vinchia town.
When police refused, tensions escalated. The crowd pelted stones at the police station, prompting the police to retaliate with lathicharge (baton charge) and tear gas.
Another video report by Zee News on their official YouTube channel, dated January 07, 2025, confirms that the video is from Rajkot, not Delhi. It shows the crowd reacting violently after police declined their demand to parade the accused publicly.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video showing a violent demonstration is NOT from Delhi But Rajkot in Gujarat.
