A video is doing rounds on social media with a claim that a few people from Samajwadi Party misbehaved with a woman in front of her husband and child and she was later beaten to death for resisting.
The post read, “INDI alliance के कारनामे….. मैनपुरी में पति और बच्ची के समाने महिला के साथ की गई अश्लील हरकत, विरोध करने पर सिर फोड़ दिया और पीट-पीटकर महिला को जान से मार दिया समाजवादी गुंडों ने…….. देखिए ये वीडियो। #UttarPradesh”

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the video to be old.
On putting the picture through a simple Google Reverse Image Search, we came across several news articles which suggested that the incident was from 2016. As per ANI, the incident took place in December 2016 in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri when the woman was beaten up for allegedly resisting molestation in Mainpuri.

Hence, the above information proves that the viral post is old and misleading.
