Fact Check: 2018 Video Of Burning Tower Erroneously Shared As Indians Setting 5G Tower On Fire

The video of a burning tower is being shared on social media, claiming that a 5G tower was set ablaze in India.

The post reads: In India, people are burning 5G towers.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.

Putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we found the same clip on YouTube, uploaded in January 2018.

“Barada main mobile tower me aag,” the video title read.

Other YouTube channels also shared the same video in 2018. The links can be found here and here.

NewsMobile independently couldn’t verify the origin and location of the video. But it is clear that the video is old. There was no media reports to corroborate the viral claim.

Hence, it can be concluded that the viral video is old and shared with false claim.
