A Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes using Google Lens traces the same clip uploaded on Facebook page and YouTube channel of Tribun Papua on December 12, 2024. As per the description, the video shows a clash between supporters of two political parties in Central Papua, Indonesia.
Searching further with relevant keywords, NewsMobile found the same video being shared in a post by Indonesian news outlets Kabar Terdepan on Instagram, and VIVO.CO.ID on YouTube. The posts, dated December 13, 2024, stated that the incident took place in the Sugapa district of Papua on December 8, 2024.
According to the reports, the clash broke out between supporters of the Apolos Bagau and Aner Maiseni candidate pairs. The violence allegedly erupted after supporters of Apolos Bagau accused the rival camp of vote-stealing during the local elections.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show tribes in Tripura using bows and arrows to defend their land from Bangladeshi intruders, is false.
