Following the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a video of cricketer Rohit Sharma with his wife and daughter outside a temple has surfaced on the internet claiming that he visited the newly inaugurated temple.
The caption with the video read: “रोहित शर्मा अयोध्या धाम”

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found the claim attached to it to be false.
First, we ran a keyword search, but we did not find any report suggesting Sharma visited the Ayodhya Ram Temple. However, there are several reports of celebrities who visited the temple.
Taking our investigation further, on putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video on YouTube dated August 13, 2023, on the verified channel by the name NTV Sports.
The title suggested that the video in question is from the time when Rohit Sharma visited the Tirumala Temple in Andhra Pradesh with his family.
Running another search, we found several reports from August 2023 when Sharma had visited Tirupati’s Tirumala Temple. These reports can be seen here, here and here.
Reports suggested that Sharma had visited Tirupati temples ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 which started on August 30, 2023, and the final was played on September 17, 2023, between India and Sri Lanka.
Hence, with the above findings, it can be concluded that the video in question is as old as August 2023, whereas the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya took place on January 22, 2024.
