A video of a group of people engaged in a fight is being circulated on social media with a claim that it shows a mob thrashing BJP workers during the election campaign.
The text embedded with the video read: बीजेपी वाले हैं स्वागत किया जा रहा है (English: BJP members are being welcomed)
The video is being shared with a Hindi caption that can be translated in English to, “The good days of BJP have started to come in full swing.”

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found it to be false.
We noticed the BJP flag in the video and ran a keyword search using ‘BJP leader thrashed’ but the research didn’t yield anything. Then, we extracted keyframes from the video using the InVID tool. We put those keyframes through Google Reverse Image Search along with keywords.
The search led us to a report by India Today dated April 12, 2019. The report contained a tweet by ANI dated
“Two groups of BJP workers clash in Ajmer rally” the title of the report read. According to the article, two groups of BJP workers clashed during an election rally in Masuda in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district on April 11, 2019, in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections.
Here’s the ANI tweet, which was captioned, “#WATCH Rajasthan: Two groups of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers clash during a rally in Masuda, Ajmer. (11/4/19).”

We found the same report on the website of Zee News, Business Standard and Punjab Kesari.
Hence, from the above information, we gathered that the video is old and is being shared with a false claim.
