Soon after the unconfirmed news of fugitive underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim, being hospitalised after poisoning sent shockwaves, a screenshot of an X-post purported by Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, has gone viral on social media confirming the demise of Dawood Ibrahim.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above screenshot, and found it to be fake.
First, we noticed the X-handle (@anwaar_kakkar) and noticed several discrepancies.
While the profile picture and cover matched with the official X-account of Kakar, the parody image name had been tagged “Fans” with no grey verification tick. On closely observing the handle (@anwaar_kakkar), our team identified an extra ‘K’ whereas the official handle of the Pakistan caretaker Prime Minister was @anwaar_kakar.
Even Kakar’s official X-handle does not have any post matching the viral screenshot.
As India and Pakistan have not yet commented on reports regarding Dawood Ibrahim’s health condition, it can be concluded that Pakistan’s caretaker PM has not confirmed any news about Dawood’s demise.
