On July 13, former US President Donald Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt when a 20-year-old man, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired an AR-15 rifle from a rooftop during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The attack resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man, critically injured two spectators, and grazed Trump’s ear.
Amid this, an image of Trump driving a golf cart is being circulated online, claiming it shows him the day after the shooting at his Pennsylvania rally in July 2024. The image is shared on Facebook with the caption, “Imagine getting shot at 7 pm and still making your 9 am tee time All reactions”

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be FALSE.
We performed a reverse image search that directed us to a report on the Associated Press which carried the same image on September 12, 2022. The description reads, “Former President Donald Trump rides around his golf course at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., Monday, Sept. 12, 2022”.

Taking this as a cue, we searched further and found the same image on the Daily Mail website, dated September 13, 2022. The article states, “Donald Trump was photographed Monday at his D.C.-area golf course without clubs, but surrounded by a group of advisers that appeared to include his former White House lawyer Ty Cobb. Trump and the group drove around in carts and stood on the green, but did not play golf at his course in Sterling, Virginia, just 25 miles outside Washington, D.C.”

Similar news reports featuring the same image from 2022 can be found here and here.
Thus, it is evident that the viral image is from 2022 and does not show Trump riding a golf cart after the recent assassination attempt.
