After the NDA’s victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, a video is circulating on social media claiming that users can get three months of free mobile recharge. The clip begins with a message featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing the offer, followed by a person dressed as a news anchor explaining the so-called steps to avail it.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral claim and found it to be misleading and part of a phishing scam.
Upon clicking the link shared in the post, users are redirected to a suspicious website — cryptobatter.com — which has no affiliation with any telecom operator such as Jio, Airtel, or Vi, nor with any government entity. The use of such an unofficial domain is a clear red flag indicating a phishing attempt.

A Google search did not yield any credible news reports or official statements about such an offer. NewsMobile also reviewed the verified social media handles and websites of Jio, Airtel, Vi, and the BJP, but found no announcement or post promoting a free recharge scheme.
Further, when NewsMobile ran the video through an AI-detection tool, analysis revealed signs of AI manipulation — confirming that the visuals of PM Modi had been digitally altered.

The viral claim is false. Neither the BJP nor any telecom operator has announced a three-month free recharge offer following the Bihar Assembly election results. The circulating video is AI-generated, and the link is part of a phishing scam designed to trick users into revealing personal information.
