Amid the dastardly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, which claimed 26 lives, several disturbing images have surfaced on social media. These pictures, showing what appear to be dead bodies lying in the valley, are being widely shared, with users linking them to the recent attack.
The caption with the picture reads: “These images of Hindu massacare will haunt the nation for generations 🙏 #pahalgamterroristattack”

NewsMobile conducted a thorough fact-check and found the images in circulation to be artificially generated.
Performing a Reverse Image Search of the visuals, the NM team found no credible news carrying these pictures.
At first glance, the images appear realistic. But on closer examination, they exhibit classic signs of AI-generated content — unnatural anatomy, distorted limbs, inconsistent lighting, and unrealistic backgrounds.
Even the AI-detection tools — Hive Moderation and WasItAI — have flagged the images as AI-generated.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral images claiming to be of the Pahalgam terror attack are not authentic but AI-generated.
