As reports circulate about Inter Miami’s participation in the Club World Cup, a viral image has emerged claiming to show football legend Lionel Messi in an intimate pose with FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

NewsMobile fact-checked the picture in question, and found it to be AI-generated.
A closer analysis revealed several inconsistencies, including a distorted face on the right side of the image, which further fuelled doubts about its authenticity.
Conducting a Reverse Image Search, the NM team could not find any related images. Furthermore, AI-detection tools — TrueMedia and HuggingFace — confirmed the image had been created using Artificial Intelligence.
Based on the above findings, we can conclusively determine that the image in question is AI-generated.
