A screenshot resembling a video call has circulated on social media, showing Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma in a small window and his wife Ritika Sajdeh holding an infant. It is being claimed that the infant is Rohit Sharma’s newborn son.

NewsMobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be misleading.
A Reverse Image Search revealed that the same picture was posted on a fan-run Instagram page dedicated to Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh on September 21, 2024 (archived). The caption reads: “THROWBACK 👨👩👧❤️🥺,” indicating that the image is not recent and unrelated to the claim.
It is important to note that Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh welcomed their son on November 15, 2024, and announced the news on November 16, 2024.
Since the image in question is predated to their son’s birth, we can conclusively say that the image circulating with the claim that it shows Rohit Sharma’s newborn son is misleading.
