It’s been over a year since rumours began swirling that Cristiano Ronaldo had proposed to his partner, Georgina Rodriguez. But neither of the two has openly announced it yet.
However, an image of Cristiano Ronaldo proposing to Georgina Rodriguez has been widely circulating on social media.
A Facebook post shows the football star proposing to Georgina Rodriguez. The post reads: BREAKING; Cristiano Ronaldo has proposed marriage to Georgina Rodriguez. The post has gone viral with 107k likes.
Another Facebook post shared the photo with a caption: CR7 has proposed marriage to Georgina Rodriguez finally, congratulations to them (with a heart emoji)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral photo, and found it to be AI-generated.
As mentioned, neither has shared a post on their social media handles confirming the good news.
Looking closer at the image, we found Ronaldo’s fingers and thumb misplaced. It looks like the ring, which seems abruptly cut, is just placed between the hands. Secondly, Georgina Rodriguez’s look in the viral image appear to be completely different from Ronaldo’s partner.

NewsMobile ran the image through Hive Moderation, an AI detection tool, which also confirmed that the picture was AI-generated.

Therefore, we can conclude by saying that the viral image is not real but AI-generated. And social media users should to be cautious before sharing such misleading visuals.
