FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found the claims to be false.
The primary reason is that on March 5, 2025, there were no reports of earthquakes around Delhi-NCR or tsunamis in or around the Arabian Sea or Bay of Bengal.
On Wednesday, Manipur experienced two earthquakes with magnitudes above 4 and up to 5.4, but neither triggered a tsunami.
An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck the Myanmar-India border region on Wednesday. Therewas no tremors in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh. Even the National Centre for Seismology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, on its website, has mentioned earthquakes that hit Manipur and the India-Mayanmar border.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post claiming that an earthquake would strike specific regions is Misleading.
