NewsMobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be false.
Searching further, the NM team detected the source of the visuals — a video uploaded to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s official YouTube channel on August 1, 2022, featuring Sitharaman delivering a reply during a discussion under Rule 193 on price rise in the Lok Sabha.
To verify further, we analysed the viral video using the AI detection tool TrueMedia.org. The tool confirmed that the audio in the video is AI-generated. Additionally, it highlighted that the transcript has a dramatic tone, with stylised language crafted for dramatic effect.
Thus, it is clear that the viral video featuring Finance Minister Sitharaman has been edited with AI-generated audio and visuals taken out of context to create a misleading narrative.
