A video of a plane making an emergency landing is doing the rounds on social media. The post claims that a KLM aircraft faced a terrifying emergency landing near Bareilly International Airport on March 13.
An Instagram post by AsliBareilly shared a video of the aircraft and passengers leaving the airplane. It also mentions, “A KLM aircraft faced a terrifying emergency landing near Bareilly International Airport late last night. The plane, carrying passengers on board, veered off the runway and landed in a rough terrain area. Emergency services responded swiftly, evacuating all passengers safely. While some minor injuries were reported, no fatalities have been confirmed.”

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be misleading.
Firstly, Bareilly does not have an international airport. Bareilly Airport is also known as Bareilly Air Force Station or Trishul Air Base. This airport has also a military airbase.
Secondly, there was no news about an international flight making an emergency landing near Bareilly in the last week.
Thirdly, a Google search on KLM flight video traces to a news report on Facebook. Here, the visuals were similar to the one shared as the flight making a ladding in Bareilly. Translation of the post confirmed that the news is of a KLM, an Amsterdam-bound flight, skidded off the runway at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport in Norway after an emergency landing on December 29, 2024.
The Aviation Safety Network (ASN) @AviationSafety on X had posted the video: “KLM flight #KL1204, a Boeing 737-800, veered off the right side of runway 18 after landing at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport. The flight had diverted there shortly after takeoff from Oslo Airport (OSL) on December 29, 2024.”

Thus, we can conclusively say that the viral video is not from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, but Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport in Norway.
