Fact Check: This video of birds flocking together in the sky is NOT from Chandigarh

A video of a flock of birds in the sky is doing the rounds on social media. The post claims that the spectacular video is from Chandigarh. The post also implies that the video is linked to the lockdown due to COVID-19.

“Chandigarh kalka Road…as told… Nature is back to its basics
Nature love corona😁” the post read. 

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the video and found that the claim is false.

We ran a search using keywords ‘flock of birds’ along with a screengrab of the video and found that the said video is from Ahmedabad.

The same video was uploaded by TOI on their official YouTube channel on February 12, 2020.

According to the video content, it was taken at a riverfront in Ahmedabad.  The report also states that this phenomenon is called murmuration wherein birds fly in swooping, intricately coordinated patterns through the sky.

Moreover, the nationwide lockdown was announced on March 24, 2020. This proves that the above video had no relation with the COVID-19 lockdown.
