FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the video in question, and found it to be a deepfake.

Upon careful examination, the NM team identified several inconsistencies, most notably lip-sync issues between the audio and visuals.

Searching further, our team also traced the original footage to TV9 Bharatvarsh’s official YouTube channel, dated September 27, 2024. The same video had been shared by several other media outlets. (These posts can be seen here, here and here.)

In this video, marking the World Tourism Day, Adityanath said, “… Uttar Pradesh has today succeeded in attracting not only the entire country but the entire world for tourism. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, last year more than 46 crore tourists visited different religious, spiritual and eco-tourism or heritage tourism sites in Uttar Pradesh. These tourists not only come to Uttar Pradesh for tourism but they also play a very big role in creating employment in the state. It also helps in increasing the excellent coordination of heritage and development… Today the holy abode of Kashi Baba Vishwanath is attracting crores of tourists.”

A detailed comparison of both videos reveals identical visuals, including Adityanath’s attire and the background. However, the original video makes no reference to joint pain or any related remedies, confirming the viral video is doctored.

Moreover, an analysis using TrueMedia’s deepfake detector revealed strong evidence of manipulation, returning a 100% confidence score indicating AI-generated audio. The tool also detected AI-driven alterations in 94% of the facial features, further confirming the use of deepfake technology in the video. (Detailed Analysis can be seen here)
