In the midst of high-octane political campaigning for 2024 Lok Sabha polls across the nation, an 11-second video clip of Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is doing the rounds on social media, in which he can be heard saying “there is a wave of change and Congress is coming (to the power)”.
The caption with the video reads: “परिवर्तन की लहर बहुत स्पष्ट है, कांग्रेस सरकार आ रही है। :- भाजपा सांसद अर्जुन राम मेघवाल” (English translation: The wave of change is very clear, Congress government is coming: BJP MP Arjun Ram Meghwal.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video, and found it to be misleading.
With a keyword search on Google, the NM team spotted the same video uploaded on the official Facebook page of UP Congress, dated September 11, 2023.
Noticing the logo of ‘Rajasthan Tak’ in the video, our team found the original clip related to the viral clip on the YouTube channel of ‘Rajasthan Tak’.
Digging further, we found the longer version of the video on the official YouTube channel of ‘Rajasthan Tak’, dated September 11, 2023. In the full video, Meghwal can be heard saying, “Sankalp Yatra, this is a very successful yatra. I have been watching this for a long time. There is a very clear inclination of the public. Change… the Congress government is coming and the BJP government is coming.”
On closely observing the full video, it became clear that Meghwal had a slip of tongue. However, he corrected his mistake within seconds. The origin of the video suggests that it is actually from the 2023 Rajasthan polls and has no connection with the ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
So, it can be concluded that a trimmed video of Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is being shared with a misleading twist to it.
