It is claimed through this video that it shows a lawyer was scolded for bringing the hijab matter to court.
The video is shared on Facebook with the caption, “Watch the CJI of the court severely Reprimanding and stripping the lawyer who was defending the petitioners on the Hijab issue for Raking up the issue again and again people must know how serious this issue is and how foolish of the lawyer to bring this up to CJI Karnataka time and again.”

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be MISLEADING.
Using the InVid Tool, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a Reverse Image Search. This search directed us to the official YouTube channel of ‘High Court of Karnataka’ that carried the same viral video from 36 minutes timestamp. The title of the video reads, “High Court of Karnataka Live Telecast of Court Proceedings of CH-1 on 03.03.2022 at 10.30 am.”
We also noticed that only two judges can be seen in the viral video whereas the Karnataka hijab verdict was led by a three-judge bench. This suggests that the viral video is not related to the hijab row case.

We also checked the official website of the Karnataka High Court and found that the court proceeding seen in the viral video is not related to hijab row but relates to some commercial appeal that was being heard in the Chief Justice’s courtroom. The date of the decision reads ‘04/03/2022’ whereas the hijab ban verdict was announced on ‘15/03/2022’.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that an unrelated video is being falsely shared as a lawyer was scolded for bringing the hijab matter to Karnataka High Court. Therefore, the viral claim is misleading.
