Fact Check: Is A Pak Fighter Pilot Down After Operation Sindoor? Here’s The Truth

Date:

A video circulating on social media shows a man in military uniform writhing on the ground as a group of locals gather around him. Many users claim that the man in the clip is a “Pakistani official” following the Indian Army’s recent Operation Sindoor.

The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “Pakistani official down. Give him Fantastic Tea”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be MISLEADING.

A Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes through Google Lens traced the clip to a longer version posted on Twitter, dated April 15, 2025, describing that the incident is a crash involving a Pakistan Air Force training aircraft.

Further verification brought up a YouTube video uploaded the same day, showing the same visuals with a title “PAF Fighter Aircraft Huge Crash”.

This aligns with a report from Samaa TV, which confirmed that a Dassault Mirage 5 training aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force crashed near the Ratta Tibba area in Vehari district on April 15 due to a technical malfunction. The report also noted that both pilots survived after ejecting from the aircraft and were initially treated by local residents before being airlifted by the PAF for further care.

Thus, we can conclusively say that the viral video is not related to Operation Sindoor or any recent cross-border conflict. It’s a training aircraft crash involving the PAF in April 2025.
