FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be FAKE.

Starting with our investigation, we searched the web with relevant keywords to look for news articles stating that Keshav Prakash Maurya has resigned from BJP but could not find any credible report corroborating the above claim.

Further, we started searching for the YouTube channel of Nation TV mentioned in the viral post. We came to know that news was uploaded on June 2 and attributed to Nation TV. A misleading heading was used in this news report. It was said in the video that Keshav Prasad Maurya may resign from the BJP. Whereas, it was claimed in the title of the video that Maurya has resigned from the BJP. The entire video can be seen here.

Digging further, we found a tweet dated June 6 by the official fact-checking handle of the UP Government in which it was clearly stated that, “There has been no change in the cabinet of the Uttar Pradesh government. The news being run on social media by a YouTube channel named Nation TV is fake.”

Thus, it is evident from the above information that Uttar Pradesh’s deputy CM Keshav Prakash Maurya has NOT resigned from BJP and there is no change in Uttar Pradesh’s cabinet. The viral claim is FAKE.
