Carefully watching the video, we found that the vaccine mentioned in the clip is for human papillomavirus (HPV). The original video had been uploaded by the verified Facebook page English NEWJ on September 2, 2022.
Multiple media reports, dated September 2022, have also stated that this Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus vaccine (qHPV) — CERVAVAC, will help prevent cervical cancer in women.
In January 2023, according to some reports, Serum Institute of India launched the first made-in-India HPV vaccine for cervical cancer. The reports can be seen here and here.
However, as per reports, the vaccine is for human papillomavirus (HPV), which is one of the causes of cervical cancer in women. This vaccine doesn’t prevent all types of cancer. Hence, the post in circulation is misleading.
