A video of a crocodile swimming with a dead body is being circulated on social media with a claim that it is from Madhya Pradesh. The post claims that a young man slipped in water at Gandhi Sagar Dam and was attacked by a crocodile.
Facebook users are sharing the video with the caption, ” ब्रेकिंग न्यूज़ मध्य प्रदेश गांधी सागर (डेम) पैर फिसलने से पानी में गिरा युवक मगरमच्छ ने किया हमला युवक की मौत :गांधी सागर:: डैम में पिकनिक मनाने गए युवकों में से एक युवक डैम की दीवार पर खड़ा होकर अंदर देख रहा था उसका पैर अचानक पैर फिसलने से युवक पानी में गिरा पानी में मगरमच्छ युवक पर किया हमला जिससे उसकी मृत्यु”

We ran a keyword search and found a report by Mexico News Daily dated August 22, 2022, where a screengrab of the video was featured.

According to the report, the video was filmed at the Laguna del Carpintero bridge in Tamaulipas, Mexico, on August 18, 2022.
The man entered the lagoon for swimming in the morning around 8:30 (local time) unaware that a crocodile was swimming nearby. The report mentioned that the man was killed by the crocodile and his body was recovered near Volantín and the crocodile was captured.
Similar reports were also published by ABC News and Daily Mail.
Thus, we can conclude that the viral claim is false as the video is not from India.
