Following the recent riots in Bareilly, police have arrested two more accused — Idris and Iqbal — in an encounter. Over 70 people, including Maulana Tauqeer Raza, have been held in connection with the violence so far.
Amid this, a video showing a large crowd on a railway platform is widely circulating on social media. Many in the crowd are seen wearing skullcaps. It is being claimed that these people had gathered in Bareilly on Tauqeer Raza’s call, but fled before their arrest.
A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:
(English version: They come to the violence-prone area in large groups from outside, and then leave after committing violence. The police then search for them using photographs, but they are never found. They were exorcised very quickly. Muslims from across the country had gathered in Bareilly, instigated by Tauqeer Raza of Bareilly. Now that the UP police have identified them on camera and ordered action, they are all fleeing Bareilly.)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found the claims to be false.
A Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes traced the clip to a YouTube channel — The Leader Hindi, uploaded on August 21, 2025. Since the riots in Bareilly began on September 26, the timing confirms that the video predates the violence.
The description of the video on YouTube identifies the crowd as participants at the Urs-e-Razavi in Bareilly and uses hashtags like “Ala Hazrat” and “Bareilly”.
Urs-e-Razavi is an annual three-day religious gathering held at the Dargah Aala Hazrat to commemorate the death anniversary of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan. The 2025 event, held from August 18 to 20, drew millions of visitors from across the country. Thus, the viral video is unrelated to the Bareilly riots.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video, claiming to show people gathered in Bareilly on Tauqeer Raza’s call to instigate violence, is false.
