As the Cyclone Fengal crossed Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts recently, a video of the flooded street has surfaced on social media, claiming that it is from Marina Beach, Chennai.
The post reads: “Marina beach road Chennai #CycloneFengal.”

Putting the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team traced the same video on Facebook posted on September 4, 2024, with a caption: “02-09-2024 💥Heavy rain in Jeddah city.”
Searching further, we found the same video on Newsflare, dated September 3, 2024, with a caption: Saudi Arabia: Heavy rain has flooded the streets of Jeddah.
Thus, it is confirmed that the viral video is from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, NOT Marina Beach in Chennai.
