A video, being claimed to show a large crowd protesting in Manipur against “Vote Chori”, is doing the rounds on social media.
A Facebook user posted the video with a caption: मणिपुर की जनता ने मोदी, RSS, भाजपा को नकारा हैअब नेपाल जैसा ही जनांदोलन भारत में होने का संकेत है यह! (English version: The people of Manipur have rejected Modi, RSS, and BJP. This is a sign of mass movement similar to Nepal taking place in India.)

Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team traced the original video to an Instagram post, dated April 14, 2025. As per the post, the footage shows a protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in Kolkata.

We also found a report featuring images similar to the video keyframes video. The visuals, according to the report, show Indian Secular Front (ISF) supporters participating in large numbers in a protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025. The protest march in Kolkata was from Sealdah station to Ramlila Maidan, which disrupted traffic on Red Road for a long duration on April 14, 2025.
So in conclusion, we can say that the viral video claiming to show a recent protest in Manipur is false.
