On June 12, 2025, Air India Flight AI‑171, a Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner, crashed into a hostel block at B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off. Two hundred forty-one of the 242 people onboard, including 12 crew members, and around 38 people on the ground, were killed, leaving just one survivor.
Amid this, a video is has gone viral on social media, claiming it is the last reel created by the crew members of the ill-fated flight.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral clip and found it to be Misleading.
Running the extracted video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team found the original clip posted by cabin crew member Yashasvi Sharma on Instagram under the username @yashasvi_explorer on June 9, 2025. Since the video was uploaded before the tragic crash on June 12, it has no connection with the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

Furthermore, Yashasvi Sharma herself confirmed her safety in the comment section of the post, writing: “Hi everyone, Thank you so much for reaching out. I’m safe and currently in Mumbai. I’m deeply shaken and heartbroken by what’s happened. It’s a very difficult time for us 🙏🏻.”
A further scan of her Instagram account detects a clarification post, in which she wrote:
“I am aware of recent rumours circulating my video, and that it went viral. Requesting all my friends and family to report such accounts and ask them to delete it. How will our families feel if they see that we are not alive? How can someone do this without any information? Thank you.”

Meanwhile, the official list of the 12 Air India Flight AI‑171 crew members, who tragically lost their lives, was published by Brut India on June 13, 2025.
Thus, we can conclusively say that the viral video claiming to show last reel of crew members before the AI-171 Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad is Misleading.
