A video featuring football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is going viral on social media, with users claiming he has issued an emergency support message for Gaza. The video appears to show Ronaldo speaking to the media, allegedly expressing solidarity with Palestine.

Putting the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team found that the video in question originally appeared on Instagram, dated February 14, 2025. The footage is from a post-match interview following Al-Nassr’s 3-2 win over Al-Ahly in Jeddah.
In the original video, Ronaldo is asked by a reporter about his feelings after the victory, to which he replies, “I’m very happy to win.” When asked about the situation in Syria, Ronaldo said, “I love the country.”

There is no mention of Gaza or Palestine in the original video. The entire interaction is focused on the match and a brief mention of Syria.
To verify the authenticity of the audio, we analysed it using the AI detection tool, Resemble.ai, confirming that the audio in the viral video is digitally manipulated.

Thus, we can conclusively say that the video does not show Cristiano Ronaldo voicing support for Gaza. The video content is strongly doctored.
