On November 3, Pakistan Air Force base in Nothern Pakistan’s Mianwali reportedly came under a terror attack involving suicide bombers. According to Pakistan military, nine attackers were killed in the encounter. Against the backdrop, a video showing an aircraft on fire with a Pakistan flag on the tail of the jet is going viral on social media. Many on social media claim that the visuals are of a recent Mianwali base attack.
A Facebook user shared this video and wrote, “UNKNOWN people strike again !! They destroy 6 fighter planes of Pakistan Air Force training base in Mianwali.”

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, our team traced the same visual in a report by Hindustan Times dated May 10, 2023. The title of the video reads: “Pak embarrassed as Imran supporters burn Chinese Shenyang F-6 dummy aircraft in Mianwali.” According to the report, supporters of Imran Khan damaged properties during the protest against the arrest of former Prime Minister.
According to a report in Free Press Journal, dated May 09, 2023, the crowd first barged into the Pakistan Army headquarters in Rawalpindi and inside the premises of a Lahore Corp Commander’s residence. Later, the protesters in Mianwali set ablaze a Chinese Shenyang F-6 dummy aircraft outside an Air Force base.
We also found the same visual in a tweet of EurAsian Times, dated May 10, 2023, mentioning a PAF Shenyang F-6 (Chinese) monument/dummy Aircraft set ablaze by the public reportedly outside a Pakistan Air Force base in Mianwali.
