FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
A review of the viral video revealed several indicators suggesting it was not an actual incident but part of a staged sequence. Around the 16-second mark, someone can be heard shouting, “Action!” — a common cue used during filming.
Further investigation led NewsMobile to Shohanur Rahman, a journalist from Bangladesh, who posted about the same video on X. He clarifies that the clip is over two years old and actually shows a filming sequence — not a real act of violence. Rahman also emphasised that the objects being thrown at the woman were not real stones, further dispelling claims of actual brutality.
A longer version of the clip has also been uploaded to a YouTube channel “SHAMIM AHMED CIP”, dated March 19, 2023, confirming that the video existed well before the current administration led by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus in Bangladesh.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show a video reflecting the current treatment of women in Bangladesh, is false.
