A video purportedly showing scuba divers discovering ancient idols and artifacts deep under the sea is going viral on social media. Many users claim that the divers are exploring the remains of Ram Setu.
A Facebook user posted the video with a caption: Sree Rama sethu inside the sea.

NewsMobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be false.
Searching with relevant keywords, the NM team found no credible news reports or articles confirming any such underwater exploration of Ram Setu. Additionally, we conducted a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframe, and found the same video posted on Instagram, dated March 27, 2025. As per the video caption, the visuals are AI-generated.

The Instagram profile description indicates that the account belongs to a digital creator specialising in 3D computer graphics, VFX, film, and animation. Notably, the profile has also uploaded multiple similar AI-generated videos.
To verify the authenticity of the visuals, we ran the video through Hive Moderation, an AI detection tool, and found that the video is AI-generated.
Thus, it is clear that the viral video does not show divers exploring the remains of Ram Setu. In fact, it is AI-generated.
