Running the viral video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team detected media reports featuring the same video in the New York Post and HTX, dated December 26, 2023.
According to the New York Post report, floodwaters in northern Argentina triggered a massive wave of mud that violently swept away an entire bridge, while local residents fled in panic.
The shocking video was recorded in Catamarca province, shows a group of locals watching the surging Rincon River after days of heavy rain in the area. Suddenly, a wave of water, mud, and rocks strikes the only bridge leading out of Rincon, lifting it off the road and carrying it into the raging river.
Also, a YouTube video report from The Weather Network, dated December 30, 2023, states: “Significant rainfall in Argentina’s Catamarca province caused a massive mud wave to sweep away an entire bridge, forcing local residents to flee in panic. Although no casualties were reported, the destruction of the bridge left the entire town of Rincón isolated.”
