Fact Check: AI-Manipulated Video Promotes Bogus Rs 5,000 Govt Scheme

Date:

Several videos circulating on social media claim that the government is offering Rs 5,000 to individuals aged 18 to 40 if no one in their family holds a government job. The clip begins with visuals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, followed by an anchor promoting the alleged scheme.

The anchor says: “This is not for one time, it is three times every year. Yes friends, under the new scheme of the government, if no one in your family is in a government job and your age is between 18 and 45 years, then you will get Rs 5,000 absolutely free. To avail this benefit, relike and write your age in the comments. Now search ‘Bazaartak’ on Google and open this website. Scroll down and fill the form to get the money.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobie fact-checked the viral claim and found it to be a scam.

A keyword search did not yield any credible media reports or official government notifications about such a scheme. We then checked ‘Bazaartak’ on Google, which redirected to bazartak.net — a dubious website publishing bogus claims.

Closer scrutiny of the viral video revealed telltale signs of AI manipulation, including synthetic audio, lip-sync mismatches, and unnaturally smooth textures.

To confirm, we ran the footage through Hive Moderation’s AI-detection tool, which verified that the video was AI-manipulated.

The viral claim that the government is giving Rs 5,000 under a new scheme is fake. The video is AI-generated, and the website being promoted is unreliable. Citizens are advised not to fall for such scams.
